Moreover, "Hambrook" was a common name in the county of Gloucestershire, where the Severn Valley is located. (C. L’Estrange Ewen. History of Surnames of the British Isles. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Company, 1968. pp. 238-239.) One distinct possibility is that Patrick was born in or around Hambrook, England, located about 6 miles northeast of Bristol in southern Gloucestershire.
